Wow, we never expected such a great response from our first edition! Thank you so much for all of the encouraging emails. Below are some of the emails we received from you and it was so exciting to see how well you liked our first edition. We also received many inquiries from those wishing to write and contribute to our magazine as well as those who wished to advertise on our site. It gave us great confidence that we are going in the right direction.

This month we have another exciting issue with almost 20 articles all of which are very informative and interesting. Our writers and columnist provided what I believe to be extremely relevant material for this month's edition. We are also very excited to offer a new feature called Competitive Edge. Each month you will find helpful tips on how to have the edge in competition at different disciplines. Tell us how you like it as this month Creeky Routson gives us great advice on Dressage Competition.

We hope you like this month's edition.

Congrats on a great new online magazine.  I really enjoyed reading it all today.   Under your monthly "Hoof Care" section  (I am assuming that is going to be a monthly category) - it would really be nice to publish "both sides of the coin".   i.e.  Get the barefoot opinion out there besides just strictly a "farrier's" opinion.  ...Without also showing the barefoot perspective - you are doing like so many other magazines and just showing one side of the story.
Congratulations again and job well done on your first issue.
Cheryl

Cheryl, great comments and a good point. Actually prior to the launch of the magazine we worked very hard to provide a qualified representative to present the barefoot point of view in a monthly column for the magazine. In fact, we identified a person we felt would be a great contributor of information on the subject. Though our efforts to contact them were extensive, we were unable to do so. We made the decision to cease our search and go with just one hoof expert as a columnist, however, we will continue to seek and feature alternative ideas in all areas of information.-Editor

Loved it and would like to forward the link to lots of friends/clients.
I could do it the conventional way, but thought it would be cool if you had a ... "forward this newsletter" button on the front page.
Nice job.Thx

Keep it up.  I liked it.  I read about all of it, my eyes are tired!  Lots of interesting stuff.
Thank you, Dale Wilson

Thanks Dale, I hope you gave those eyes a rest because we have a lot more interesting reading for you this month.

I was delighted to see your first edition open with the Goodnight series on natural horsemanship.  Everyone who cares about the future of the equine industry should work hard to make sure that Natural Horsemanship never becomes a fad that goes out of style.  At Mill Swamp Indian Horses we have been teaching children as young as five years old in our hands on "Introduction to Natural Horsemanship" classes.  Many of these children have gone on to purchase horses and several have become competent colt starters though they are only teens. Natural horsemanship gives children the skills and confidence necessary to safely handle horses before they ever mount up.
We have nothing that draws the horseless into the field like natural horsemanship demonstrations and it is great to see your magazine open with such a good explanation of what this technique is.

Hi Garry,
Just finished reading your article, "This Park's For You". Had a good laugh and am grateful to find an editor with a sense of humor and an intelligent approach to writing about horses.
Anyway, thanks for a great piece of writing. It brought a smile to my face.
Sincerely,
Barbara Molland

I live in Solano County (California.)  Currently they are revising the Williamson Act (land conservation act) rules and guidelines.  At this time, the State Department of Conservation is recommending to our county that horses be deemed NOT agriculture and NOT compatible with agriculture.  I find this absurd!!!  Have any other readers been met with this subject and who could we, in Solano County, go to - in order to help us fight this injustice?
Thank you for your time
