Written By You,

The Reader
Every month Equestrian Network Magazine features a short story written by one of our readers. It can be a story about an adventure you had with your horse, a fictional short story, or poetry. This month, Harold Roy Miller sent us "Horse Buying Internet Blues".

Horse Buying Internet Blues
Harold Roy Miller

The quickest way to fall into debt
is to shop for equines on the internet.
Those websites can be quite addicting,
viewing the horses they are depicting.

As soon as you click on Horse.com
You're basically under the seller's thumb.
They baited the hook and are hoping you'll bite
as you browse through their equine website.

A horse fix is a powerful call
but it can also be your downfall.
It can be a very expensive lesson,
giving in to this fun obsession.

It doesn't matter how many horses you own
if you are money-spending prone.
This craving for more deep down in your soul
will keep you in the proverbial hole.

You'll find yourself checking every available source
to find the elusive perfect horse.
And once you enter this horse-zone trance,
It's back to the bank for another cash advance.

But there's a way to beat this compulsive disease
and you can do it with relative ease.
Instead of checking out horses for sale,
saddle up what you have and hit the trail.
